Scholarship and Charitable Donations Dinner

The North Georgia State Fair was thrilled to host its first scholarship awards and charitable donations dinner on Monday, June 9th. In its first year of offering scholarships to deserving Cobb County students, the fair was able to award $5,000 scholarships to SEVEN (7) amazing, and very deserving individuals.

In addition, the fair made four $15,000 donations to local charities who were also on hand to be recognized: 10 Women of Hope, Waymark Foster, The Dave Krache Foundation, and Marietta Mentoring.  A $40,000 donation was also made to the Cobb Veterans Memorial Foundation, and $375,000 was given to Cobb County government for capital improvements at Jim R. Miller Park. Piedmont Church’s Dr. Dwight (Ike) Reighard served as Master of Ceremonies.

Fair president, Colin Meaders said “The Superior Plumbing presents North Georgia State Fair takes great pride in giving back to the community it calls home. It was a tremendous honor to be able to put over $500,000 back into our community. We look forward to building on this tradition for many years to come.”
